Welcome To Northwestern Derby Days

Derby Days is a national, week-long philanthropic event hosted by the Sigma Chi Fraternity. For The Omega Chapter here at Northwestern, Derby Days is the defining moment of our Winter Quarter: a week full of exciting events, all to raise money for the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Welcome to the Northwestern University Sigma Chi Derby Days website! We’re excited to make this year’s programming the most engaging and meaningful on campus, and we can’t wait to create a lasting experience for the Northwestern and greater Chicago communities. By enabling the Northwestern student body and partnering with local and national organizations, we are striving to make a lasting impact for the lives of thousands of children in the area. Both our chapter and the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago thank you for your support and enthusiasm leading up to Derby Days and beyond.

The Derby Days tradition has been a hallmark of Sigma Chi since the philanthropy’s beginnings in 1933. Today, each chapter coordinates a week-long series of events that rally campuses across the country. The two of us have been planning this week for months on end to create an unforgettable experience for those who will participate in, support, and benefit from Derby Days. Please take the time to explore the website and reach out to us if you want to get involved or have any questions.

A Recap of Derby Days 2016

Last year, Derby Days successfully raised over $32,000 and was the most successful Greek philanthropy at Northwestern thanks to a fantastic showing from Northwestern’s twelve PHA sororities (roughly 1,700 members). The sisters of Pi Beta Phi were crowned the Derby Days champions of 2016. Through the inclusion of additional student organizations and a better-than-ever week of programming, we hope to see the week and our contribution to Lurie Children's Hospital continue to grow!
